Letter to The Police News

My name is Amy Ebarb.

In July of 2005 our lives were forever changed. Kenny Ebarb,my brother-in-law was murdered. His body has never een found. We have been through numerous detectives and numerous searches provided by Texas Equusearch, still no answers.

Monday the body of 17 year old K'lynn Khor was discovered in Huntsville. Her father is a family friend.

In 1989 my good friend Katrina Stonecipher was murdered blocks from my house. I heard her screams that night(we were 16).

I believe that murderers are given way more rights than victims. I also believe that our Homicide depts. need more manpower including a team of cold case detectives.

I do not believe cases should go cold but be reviewed often. We need stiffer punishments for offenders. These people get locked up and set free and more are murdered or victimized. No one person should know this many people that have been murdered.

Please give us justice for Kenny and find K'lynns murderer or murderers. I am a member of Texas Equusearch and Parents of murdered children, two organazations that should not have to exist. But they do because of these sickos that think they have the right to take a life.  And because someone has to be a voice for victims and unfair justice! Amy Ebarb

Comments:

Amy, Thank you for your letter and taking an active role in helping victims families. My cousin was Katrina and her death still haunts me. Of the 4 people who contributed to her death, only one is still in prison. And he has tried to appeal multiple times and hasn't ever admitted to killing her or even expressed any remorse.

Thanks again for your words.

katrina was one of my best friends in school. i had talked to her a couple of days before she was murdered. she use to talk about those boys and invited me to hange out with them. i told her i didnt want to meet them cuz i thought they were taking advantage of her. then i found out them boys had to do with her murder. i went to the courthouse to watch the trial of that drake boy. i sat with her mother and aunt. its been so many years since her murder, but i remember katrina. she was a very sweet girl. and a good friend of mine. i always wondered how her sisters are doing. i remember her showing me pictures of her sisters and always talking about them when we were in school. im sure they were too little to remember me, but i remember them lookin a lot like there big sis. and i hope they grew up to live a long happy life. im sure thats what katrina would have wanted. anyone can reach me at face book.misty lee
