I was referred to your website through a valid link that I received in an email regarding a topic on an incident involving police in Tiki Beach, TX. I receive google alerts for anything that
relates to the subject of "Tiki".
If this is a website dedicated to the police community at large, then I applaud you. I grew up amongst many friends who went on to become police officers and I recently have become good friends in
my now older adult years with a police officer with whom I am attending AA meetings.
My new friend was reluctant to divulge his line of work and when he did so, he seemed shocked that I found it perfectly acceptable. Wearing a badge does not make a person super-human, rather in my
opinion, it makes them simply honorable. Is it a disgrace to admit, as a police officer, that he has a drinking problem?
I would have to answer with an unequivocable "No". It is in my opinion with ultimate grace and humility that he has addressed his problem and is dealing with it admirably and truthfully. He has
become my closest allie in the program and one of my best friends.
Although this comment has no bearing in all likelihood on your website, I felt compelled to share the feelings of a civilain who respects people for who they are and who respects police officers
for the daily sacrifices they make for us law abiding citizens in helping to keep our country the best country in the world - period.
